Child Safe Standards
The Victorian State Government introduced Child Safe Standards in 2016, in response to the Betrayal of Trust Inquiry. Some organisations in Victoria are required by law to implement Child Safe Standards practices. These standards apply to organisations that provide services to both adults and children.
Global Vision’s Child Safe Standards (CSS) is designed to train members of your entire organisation- including volunteers and contractors. Our course will introduce your organisation to the Seven Standards, review the organisation and individual’s responsibilities under the Standards, outline signs of child abuse, and provide a step by step reporting process. The Child Safe Standards course is designed for customisation as every organisation has its own policies and reporting process. Customisation of text and images in the Child Safe Standards course is FREE and included in the cost of the course.
Also available with the CSS course is the optional add-on component covering the Reportable Conduct Scheme. This component focuses on the link between Child Safe Standards and the Reportable Conduct within an organisation. As of 1 January 2019, the third and final phase of the scheme took effect.
